I See Women As Leaders

I See Women As Leaders by Donna Streufert, Editor-in-Chief, Lutheran's Woman's Quarterly, Fall 2004

Amy was bright-eyed and eager, focused, intelligent and warm, giving generously of herself to others---children, the poor, her peers. She modestly accepted the leadership award from the Women's Leadership Institute of Concordia University Wisconsin and we were very pleased to present it.

This young woman, still a college junior, had already discovered how God could use her to lead others by serving them.

Autumn is a time for returning---to school, to work, to service on committees and boards in church and community. Women will fill so many of the leadership roles in these areas. What kind of leaders do women make?

The most effective female leaders I have known and worked with share some common characteristics-characteristics revealed in very telling remarks they have made to me over the years!

Summer Sip-n-Sees

I’ve been told this is a southern tradition. You are invited to a SIP ‘N SEE if someone wants to introduce a new grandchild, or vacation photos and experiences, or show off wedding gifts, even joyfully report on a mission trip….

Well, here at Boulder Ridge, the over 55 Manufactured Home park where we live in Phoenix, we are enjoying summer SIP ‘N SEES, in neighbor’s homes. We do a variety of things, of course sip iced tea and cookies, seeing family photos and treasures, hearing stories, especially of God’s goodness and direction, and sharing time together in God’s word.

10 Powerful Ways to Pray for Women

FrontLine

A Prayer Ministry of Embracing Hearts
A Women's Life Ministry Of The Church at Glassford Hill

10 Powerful Ways to Pray for Women

1. Pray for their prayer life. Father God, I lift up the women that you have placed in my care and I pray that each one of them will have a conversant relationship with You. I pray that they will come to You first with their concerns and that they will pause to listen to what You have to say to them. I pray that they will enjoy their prayer time and that they will always make it a priority.

2. Pray for their daily devotion time. Lord, I pray for our women to answer the daily call to spend time with You and Your Word. I pray that our ministry will equip them with a good working knowledge of the Bible and that they will hunger to know more all the time. Please show the new believers where to begin and instruct the spiritually mature in the deeper understanding that they are ready for. Please help them to keep in balance and stick to sound teachings.

I Have Seen The Lord by Anne Graham Lotz

I Have Seen The Lord
by Anne Graham Lotz
Zondervan

A note from the book jacket: "Anne Graham Lotz believes that today our world is desperate for churches filled not with good Christians, but with great ones—men and women like Isaiah who have had a fresh vision of God, who enjoy a vibrant, personal relationship with Him, and who live their lives empowered to change the lives of others. In this Scripture-inspired book, she guides you in seeing that vision. The result is a genuine experience of personal life-changing revival—for you!"
