I See Women As Leaders

I See Women As Leaders by Donna Streufert, Editor-in-Chief, Lutheran's Woman's Quarterly, Fall 2004

Amy was bright-eyed and eager, focused, intelligent and warm, giving generously of herself to others---children, the poor, her peers. She modestly accepted the leadership award from the Women's Leadership Institute of Concordia University Wisconsin and we were very pleased to present it.

This young woman, still a college junior, had already discovered how God could use her to lead others by serving them.

Autumn is a time for returning---to school, to work, to service on committees and boards in church and community. Women will fill so many of the leadership roles in these areas. What kind of leaders do women make?

The most effective female leaders I have known and worked with share some common characteristics-characteristics revealed in very telling remarks they have made to me over the years!
